I just spent the past week in search of the perfect software for songwriting, creating great layouts, and organizing. It doesnt exist. But ChordPro Buddy is the best formatting tool Ive come across. I am still learning about ChordPro files, and figuring how to streamline my whole system of getting songs the way I want them and storing them for access on different platforms. At this point I think I will import or write into Songbook for organizational sake, then use ChordPro Buddy to tweak the formatting for printing (unless I figure out how to create in ChordPro and import into Songbook without losing some formatting features). Some of the reviewer complaints are unfortunate as they didnt take the time to learn or look in the help file - which is -- actually helpful. Printing readable sheets is very important to these aging eyes. I found that you can size the "view" window to the approximate page size proportions, format, and then when you go to print, make sure you click the "Show Details" button on the bottom. You can choose the page size and margins, and use the wonderful slider for getting it just right. I have created 2 files to save pdfs in - one for letter size and one for half size sheets so I can make a compact printed songbook. The printing detail features make this SO easy. So far, it seems like every program has its own quirks, but it seems like this developer is responsive. Sure cant beat this much formatting for the price!
