Have been looking for a long time or an app like this. I use it in my guitar lessons. Finding the lyrics, importing it and - if necessary, addding the chords with the shortcut at the correct position. Or I type in the whole lyrics. Change the layout and transpose it for capo. Runs stable (10.6.8 and 10.7, in my case). Very friendly and helpful developer! Thank you! Dieses Programm habe ich lange gesucht. Verschiedene andere probiert, aber kein befriedigendes Ergebnis. Mir ChordPro Buddy keine Probleme. Geniale Importfunktion, einfache Akkordeingabe mit Shortcuts, gute Möglichkeiten der Layoutgestaltung. Benutze es für Songs im Gitarrenunterricht. Habe keine Abstürze. Sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Entwickler! Danke!

I really like ChordPro Buddy. It does what it is advertised to do and and it does it well. It is user intuitive so I didnt have to spend hours learning how to use it. I would like to see chord diagrams for beginning guitar players but other than that I really like this app. Thanks.

I agree with the earlier review. This program does exactly what it says. Why it has been so hard to find a program like this for OS X is a mystery to me. Who wants to gig or jam with multiple pages of sheet music? Hurrah, for the basic chord & lyric chart! This App is absolutely awesome. Every one who play music and want to have an easy sheet repertory should buy this app. It definetly worth the 10 bucks for it. Transposing feature is very sweet and now with the import button that is planned to be on the next update, itll be like 8 times faster to do a sheet than doing it on Word, and dont care Ive tried it.. Word isnt done for that purpose, this app, yes. So stop waiting, buy this app and enjoy! Thanks to Gerald for incredible work and care about his customers

As a band leader trying to make it as easy as possible for my band to learn new songs, you have made my life a lot easier. Im a singer who often uses a capo, and changes the key of songs. Now with a few mouse clicks I can print off a version that the rest of the band can use :-) I would like to vote for Syntax Highlighting, I like to highlight who sings what in different colors. I am also very interested in the footswitch support. Bottom line, great ap!

ChordPro Buddy is one of my favorite application. I use it on a regular basis to generate PDF files for my songs. It works very well and I agree with all other reviews. Very customizable !!! All my songs have the same look and they fit on two pages. Thanks to the layout feature and all the printout facilities. I also like the transpose feature. The developper takes care of his product, he offers a really fast and good support. I would have paid twice for this app, it is unique... Simply, Congratulation !!!

Really easy to use. I copy any tab with chords and lyrics on the Web, convert it in Chordsmith then paste it in chord pro buddy. Ta dam! Really easy to change key as well.

This is a great little app for collecting, formatting and printing song chord charts. Simple interface and the latest update includes chord diagrams. Lots of formatting options and seamless integration with online pasted chord charts. Well done.

I think this app is just OK… I hate that it rearranges the text that you copy and paste into it. It takes all your chords that are nicely inline above the words and puts them into the words. The outcome of the file looks ok but it makes it hell to edit… Maybe i am too used to OnSong on my iPad. That program is far better, but this is the only half way decent version i have found for the Mac. Plus i think the creator of this program has given up on any updates as it has been a year and a half since the last one.

I have been using CPB for a few years now and it has the ability to convert my text files to chord pro format. This feature alone is worth the price. One trick i have learned is to make sure that my file to import is in a ‘proportional’ font such as Courier which allocates the same space for each character. This assures that after the import that the chords are placed accurately in the chord pro inline format. The editor is intuitive and easy to use. The ability to transpose on the fly and the scrolling feature are excellent as well. The ability to change text size and format for different song parts (verse, chorus, title) is also a great feature. For the price of a fast food meal, this is a great buy. Bottom line, 5 stars. I would love to see a version of this for my iPad and PC as well. Chris NL Canada

I cant tell you how many hours Ive spent in Pages typing up lyrics and chords. Then, if I have to change the key (and I often do for various singers), I have a manual method to do that. It works well, but is pretty time-consuming and I occasionally make mistakes. Well, no more! The interface of ChordPro Buddy takes a bit of time to get used to, but is well worth the time spent. I started with version 1.0.2 and just upgraded to 1.1.0 which adds key transposition and ability to adjust margins on the printout. Additionally, once you have completed input, the printout is scalable so you can fit to the page. No more guessing about font sizes. Fill the page to the edges - an excellent feature for those of us with aging eyes. I used the Layout save control to save my personal settings for printout appearance: font, size, color, placement. This program allows me to format my lead sheets EXACTLY the way I like them. (Hey, Im getting old and set in my ways...) ChordPro Buddy does exactly one thing, and it does it well. Way simpler than your average music scoring software. Its not often that I find an app that does just what I want and is not cluttered up with a bunch of useless (to me) features. And the price? How far wrong can yo go for four bucks? (PC users eat your hearts out - this is Mac country!) Congrats, Gerald, on this latest release. I have been using "word" to write out lyrics for songs, and tried to put the chords over the appropriate words. Its very tedious. Chordpro Buddy solves the problem beautifully. Easy to use, easy to learn--just what I needed. The best part is the support--I had a question and emailed Gerald. He answered almost immediately, and fully answered my question. Very impressive!

This app is great! Very easy to use and well thought out. You can completely change all of the fonts, sizes and colors. Having the split editing window make it reall easy to see what you are doing as you do it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Great customer service too! I emailed the developer and had my questions answered within an hour. Also, if you use SongBook for iPhone and sync with DropBox, you can simply save your songs to your dropbox folder, change the extension to .pro and then they automatically sync to your phone!

Ive always struggled to find a clean way to create my own song sheets with lyrics and chords in place over the correct words. This little app does a nice job of making that process a lot simpler and better looking. I wasnt familiar with the Chord Pro text format until now but its pretty easy to learn and this app makes working with it simpler. Looking forward to future development. The developer seems like a nice guy who responds to his customers so thats a big plus. I like it!

I have found this app to be just about everything I was looking for. At the price it is a lot more than I expected. Keep up the good work!

Love it. ChordPro is easy to understand and the final results are fantastic. Coupled with the iPad playing is a breeze. I am extremely impressed with the developer , Gerald, and the lighting fast response to questions. Looking forward to when he developes chord display for piano. This app is clean and easy to use.

It is easy to edit and saves a bit of time formatting a document. But when you print it out the song title does not repeat on multiple pages. This is a nightmare if you keep a lot of sheets. Also no page numbers. I am a full time music director at a church and I have made literally hundreds of chord charts by hand. Yes entering chords is a little faster with this, but the sheets do not look as good when printed. And they could easily get mixed up in a pile that would take hours to sort out. This is a big let down for me.

If you write your own songs, this is a great, clean way to put in the chords, annotations, etc. Much easier than Word, and it transposes, too. Love it.

This is a clever app. it is well made and easy to use. It is powerful and customizable as well. I had my questions about this app respond to within 10 minutes.

This application for the MAC is the perfect tool to use side by side with ipad and iphone apps like OnSong and Songbook to write and read music and just play until your fingers fall off. Lots and lots of features, everything you would need is in here. Just buy it, why are you even having to think? You play guitar? Ok then... So worth it, makes you better, know more and also can help you to teach others as well.
